For the past 30 years, Casa Teresa has been home to more than 2,200 pregnant women.

Casa Teresa provides a temporary home and on-going support for pregnant women eighteen years and older who are alone.  Counseling and educational programs prepare these women to make loving and informed life decisions for themselves and their babies.

We offer three separate residential programs: The Parenting Program, the Adoption Program “Hannah’s House”, and the Transition Program (Phase I & II) for Single Mothers.

The Casa Teresa experience is transformational, offering women with no means of support the opportunity to become self-sufficient.  We thank you for helping us change lives.

Women's Empowerment is a vital sanctuary where homeless women gather, attend classes, and safely begin their journey beyond homelessness and despair.  Our mission is to educate and empower women who are homeless with the skills and the confidence necessary to get a job, create a healthy lifestyle, and regain a home for themselves and their children.  The catalyst for many women to attend our intensive, eight-week program is their desire to become responsible, healthy mothers who will create a safe, responsible home and nurture their children.  The core of our program is the eight-week session of classes that women attend daily.  Four days each week, women attend classes that dovetail our therapeutic empowerment curriculum with our job-readiness curriculum.  Afternoon programs include nurturing parenting workshops and domestic violence educational support groups.

Surveys completed 60 days after graduation report that 80% of our graduates are in school or working and in safe housing.  As one graduate stated "Without a job, I'm homeless.  With a job, I'm not."  Women's Empowerment's holistic approach allows women in the class to gain the confidence in themselves and their talents, to develop basic job or school skills, and to take back control of their lives.  With each success story, we are one step closer to ending homelessness one woman at a time.
