Dr. Andrea Braun
Before After

My name is Thomasina Hickman.

The day I heard from Smiles for Success, I had recently graduated from Opportunity Junction. Opportunity Junction is a program that teaches computer and life skills to people who are re-entering the workforce. My supervisor, Michelle Stewart, is the person I have to thank for finding your program. She and I had tried several different avenues to no avail.

Prior to starting at Opportunity Junction I was trying through other avenues to have my teeth taken care of. What I got was 8 teeth fewer than when I started and a denial for the dentures the dentist had told me would be approved before I had allowed him to pull them. Needless to say I had all but given up on my smile and a job where I could be respected instead of judged on my appearance.

The confidence I had lost so many years ago when I started losing my teeth had truly affected the person I had become, whether it was pertaining to interviews, going to the store or even laughing with my family. That all changed when I received the call from Smiles for Success. I had hope again!

I had the pleasure of being taken care of, pampered and truly respected by Dr. Andrea Braun and her wonderful staff. The care I received was top notch. The opportunity I received is still unbelievable to me. There are really still people out there that are willing to give to people who are trying to help themselves. Wow! The appreciation I have for everyone involved in making me a whole person again is truly indescribable.

Thanks to your program I have confidence in myself again, no more covering my mouth when I talk or smile. Today I have a job as a billing and payroll clerk and interact with as many people as I possibly can, whereas before I would avoid conversation with people due to embarrassment. That embarrassed person is gone and replaced by a happy, confident and successful person.
Thank you Dr. Braun and staff and everyone at Smiles for Success, you have made my dreams come true.

Sincerely,

Thomasina Hickman
