Sensodyne’s National “Food Fear Challenge” Benefits Smiles for Success

Chicago, IL (August 17, 2005) – Legendary Green Bay Packers Quarterback, Brett Favre, kicked off a pan-American pain-relieving program on July 12th in New York aimed at easing the suffering for the one out of four adults with sensitive teeth.
Favre, who until recently was among the millions of Americans unable to enjoy some of their favorite foods without discomfort, is again able to indulge in all the foods he loves – pain-free. Most sufferers, however, are unaware the condition can be easily and painlessly remedied.
Armed with the key to ice-cold indulgence and piping hot pleasure, Favre is helping unlock the fetters of food fear by teaming up with Sensodyne®, the No. 1 dentist and hygienist recommended toothpaste for patients with sensitive teeth, to launch a national education campaign to help inform Americans about the causes of and treatment for the painful condition.

A Good Cause for a Great Smile
While the program travels the country helping Americans smile again about eating the foods they love, Sensodyne and Brett Favre also will be helping to raise money to provide dental care for women who are in the transition from welfare to work who otherwise couldn’t afford it. In addition to an initial $25,000 donation, Sensodyne will donate one dollar for every mile traveled to Smiles For Success Foundation, a nonprofit organization that helps put smiles back on the faces of women across the country by offering free dental care for women looking to re-enter the workforce. Furthermore, for every touchdown that Brett Favre throws in the 2005-2006 season, Sensodyne will make an additional donation of $500.

Dr. Donna Rumberger of NYC accepts the first $25,000 check on behalf of the Smiles for Success program on July 12, 2005.
